Meaning you can truly enhance your home with contemporary standards of thermal efficiency, security and acoustic performance. Whether you want to purchase the panels and try and install them yourself, or have an experienced glazier install them for you (what we would recommend), the choice is yours. Secondary glazing involves installing another glass layer behind an existing single glazed window. While secondary glazing can certainly be a permanent solution, it’s often used as a temporary measure. The insulating effect of low-E glass and double glazing can reduce your energy bills each year.

Purpose designed to suit glazing systems in place of double or triple glazing. Super slim 41mm deep profile and fully tested by BSRIA to EN with rain rejection levels up to Class A. Many of our customers have original shutters in their listed or period homes. Because we custom design each CosyGlazing installation to work with original features, our integrated sash and casement window options can usually be fitted without the need to adjust original shutters. For casement windows, CosyGlazing sits perfectly either on the window frame, for a fixed solution. Or if you want your windows to open and close as they always have, we have developed modified traditional catches and stays to allow for the CosyGlazing unit to be fitted directly to the casement.

Typical variations include double glazed units, utilising toughened heat soak tested and laminated glass, triple glazed, walk on specification glass suited to your required loadings and even fire rated glazing. Other options include acoustic glass for locations with high noise pollution, solar control and different types of privacy glass. Secondary glazing works as an additional layer of glazing for your existing windows.

High quality double glazing can reduce noise levels by approximately 35 dB, and triple glazing often achieves similar results. While good quality triple glazing can offer enhanced acoustic insulation, it really depends on the products, materials used and the installation. Windows manufactured with acoustic glazing often feature thicker glass, laminated layers and a wider gap between each pane.
This can help to maintain a comfortable interior environment and save money on energy bills. The transition to internally bead timber windows has been approached cautiously due to concerns about tape failures and moisture seeping into the building's interior. However, most PVC window systems now apply internal glazing as standard, utilizing drain-through sashes and incorporating a drained and vented channel to trap any water that manages to pass the tapes.
