The reason I’m not including it as a point above is because you usually can’t fix crazing and have the same glaze. The process of adding more glass formers to reduce crazing will change the behaviour of the glaze, and in a lot of cases that means you’re getting a different result. If you have a Floating Blue recipe that crazes on your clay body and you try to solve it by adjusting the glass formers, your glaze will stop floating in the same way. If you have a microcrystalline glaze (which often have low glass formers and craze as a result), increasing the glass formers will decrease or prevent crystal growth. Easily overlooked when a deadline is looming, but it’s almost never worth rushing.
