NEW YORK (AP) - Maurice Hines' show that looks back at his life is tapping its way to New York.

"Maurice Hines: Tappin' Thru Life," a song and dance revue backed by the Diva Jazz Orchestra, will play New World Stages starting Dec. 23, directed by Jeff Calhoun.

In the show, Hines pays tribute to his late brother, Gregory, and the performers who have inspired him, including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Judy Garland and others.

Two of Maurice's discoveries are co-starring in the show: John and Leo Manzari, a pair of tap dancing siblings reminiscent of the Hines brothers.

Hines starred in Francis Ford Coppola's film "The Cotton Club" and on Broadway in the musicals "Eubie!" and "Hot Feet." He also replaced his brother in "Sophisticated Ladies."
